How I build it
Most concrete fails at the base
Not at the surface. A driveway that cracks, sinks, or settles unevenly almost always had something wrong underneath it before the first pour. That's where I spend my time.
Flat concrete doesn't have to be plain
Stamped and colored work is standard here, not an upsell. Roman cobble and ashlar slate are the two patterns customers ask for most, and color comes through my supplier.
I take out whatever's there now
Old concrete, a wood deck, pavers, a rotting patio floor. It doesn't have to be concrete for me to remove it and pour over it. Tear-out and haul-off are part of the job, not a separate line you're chasing someone else to handle.

All concrete moves. That's what control joints are for. I saw-cut them on a grid so shrinkage cracks follow the joint instead of wandering across the slab.

Stamped and colored work, yes. It protects the color. A plain broom finish does fine without it; reseal decorative work every two to three years.
